During my recent stay in Buenos Aires, I had the opportunity to experience the convenience of staying at the Portal Del Sur Hostel. As a frequent traveler, I found it extremely convenient that the hostel is located just 5 minutes on foot from Mayo Avenue. This made exploring the city and accessing nearby attractions incredibly easy. the hostel is also conveniently situated only 2.8 km from Once, making it a great choice for those who need to be close to this area. with Jorge Newbery airport being just 10 km away, it was very convenient for my transit purposes.

Although minor, one negative aspect was the limited breakfast options.

Cool staff, tasty breakfast, fun roof bar with great views, clean rooms, prime location, free activities and good connections for paid ones. Weak wifi on some floors, but rooftop and first floor have good connection. Heard others had similar experiences.

Great location, close to popular tourist attractions and public transportation. Friendly and helpful staff, always willing to assist and answer questions. - Roof terrace with a great view of the city, perfect for enjoying breakfast or a drink. - Free tango lessons and walking tour available, providing a fun and cultural experience.

The bed sheets in the dorm rooms are only changed once a week, which can be unclean and unpleasant. The eight-person dorms lack air-conditioning, making it uncomfortably hot during the summer.

Convenient and central location near public transport, restaurants, and landmarks. Helpful and accommodating staff. Quiet rooms with comfortable beds. Spacious and clean common areas. Rooftop terrace with great city views.

Great location within walking distance of the city center, with a cheap car park nearby. Beautiful old building with spacious rooms and a PC on the 3rd floor. - Helpful and friendly staff who speak English well. - Free coffee all day and access to a dining room that doubles as a workspace. - Large and spacious lockers for storing belongings. - Fabulous free activities throughout the week, like tango lessons and mate reunions. - Lovely rooftop terrace, especially when the bar is open. - Met great people at the hostel, enhancing the overall experience.

Felt like a true getaway, with nothing being too much trouble. Perhaps the breakfast could be self-cooking, allowing guests to toast eggs and clean up after themselves, reducing pressure on the staff.

I always come back because it's fantastic. Staff even helped me find lost earring. Has everything I need: Free Wi-Fi, cookware, A/C, bar and outdoor dining. Coming back for holiday.

For the price we paid, our stay at Portal Del Sur was excellent. The room was comfortable and cleaned daily, and the location couldn't have been better. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience.

Hotel breakfast could be improved with more variety.

We had an outstanding experience at Portal Del Sur. One night, we encountered noisy neighbors in our dorm room and couldn't sleep. Thankfully, the staff was incredibly helpful and quickly provided us with another room so we could rest. The cleanliness of the beds and bathrooms was impressive, and the hostel offered a range of free activities like tango lessons and walking tours. The value for money was exceptional. I highly recommend this hostel for a fantastic stay.
